Week 2 Match report – Mens weds League @ home v Eagle B Won 11 – 3
Following last week s poor start, which saw the A team loose away to 1 -9 at title contenders Unionist B with Debutant Colin Palmer being the only winner, normal service was resumed with an emphatic win over Eagle & Child B 11 – 3 details as follows:
Skipper Cameron and a sluggish start, trading points with his opponent before stepping up a gear to win 21 – 12.
Gareth Martin raced to 17 – 6 lead before finally limping over the line to win 21 – 11
Ian luckett playing out of his favoured position in the second half bowled well to win 21 – 10
Stafford ” Marathon Man” Morley had the game of the night in a real ding dong, see saw match which lasted 1 hour and 10 mins and 35 ends was unlucky to go down 19 – 21
Stevie D was up against a seasoned campaigner and raced to a 10 – 4 lead before his opponent got used to the green and dug deep and eventually lost 17 – 21
so after 5 blocks score 3 – 2 to prestwich and all to play for
next on was yorkie, one man crowd, Jon Armstrong playing his first game of the season and won comfortably 21 – 11 with some excellent coaching from Luckett from the side lines
Home debutant Dave Palmer having a point to prove from last week where he lost 4 – 21, reversed the scoreline to win 21 – 4 and so taking the kitty – well done dave and welcome to the team
Super coach chad back to his playing over the crown won 21 – 8 in 19 ends, though he was 16 – 2 up so was probably disappointed it was not a lower score
likewise Marky Mark prossor won 21 – 6 also in 19 ends having raced to a 10 – 0 lead
Last but no means least fellow home debutant and last week only winner, Colin “red balls” Palmer struggled to get to grips with the green and was playing a good player – this went all the way with colin winning 21 – 19 making it 2 out of 2 and probably repaid some of his transfer fee!
making the second half 5 – 0 to prestwich
well done boys away to st Margaret’s next week
Sorry report from the second team other than they had 3 winners so lost 4.5 – 10
