METCALFE TAKES FOOTBALL HOT SEAT

Sunday May 24th 2009 | Football

We can now formally announce that Lee Metcalfe has become the new Saturday football team’s manager with immediate effect. Lee holds two FA coaching badges and, amongst other things, spent a number of years working with the late Adie Moran at Prestwich Heys.

Speaking exclusively to pctbc.com on Saturday, Lee is really excited about the new project and can’t wait to get started.

“I’ve had 18 months out of the game since my baby was born and was openly looking for a fresh new challenge”, said Metcalfe.

“I’d had a couple of other offers but the project at the cricket club was the one that excited me and I am really happy that it’s all worked out.

“The set-up at the club is already fantastic and the proposed developments are only going to make that even better. It was an opportunity too good to pass on really!”

We will be looking at getting pre-season training underway towards the end of June or beginning of July, so keep checking back on the website for further news over the coming weeks.

• The Saturday team have applied to join the Lancashire Amateur League while the Sunday team play in the Bury Sunday League Premier Division. Players of a suitable standard who are interested in playing for any of the football teams can email club secretary at alan@pctbc.com for more information.
