PENALTY WOE IN PRE-SEASON OPENER

Prestwich Heys 1, Prestwich FC 0
Friendly Match at Sandgate Road, Whitefield
Saturday 4th July 2009

The revamped Prestwich FC got their pre-season friendly schedule underway as the reserves made the short trip to Manchester League neighbours Prestwich Heys on Saturday.

A superb showing from the lads kept the scores blank at half time against Heys Reserves but the introduction of fresh legs in the shape of the Heys A Team brought about a solitary winner for the home side.

Although Heys didn’t have everything their own way during the second 45 and the visitors can count themselves unlucky not to take a draw from the game when a penalty from skipper Danny Morley was well saved by the legs of the Heys ‘keeper.

Next up, the first team take on Heys again next Saturday on the 3G surface at Littleton Road, Salford kicking off at 2pm.
