New Boy Trevor Williams is beginning to show that we have acquired a top drawer bowler who will soon be pushing for a place in the “A” playing against Colin Yates had two breaks of 8 & 9 both consisting of 4”2’s” to win 21 – 6
Last week saw Martin Ackroyd snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, well he proved it was not a one off and obliged again this time, perhaps he shall now be known has simply “snatch” Playing Billy Cooper, martin came from 0 -3 down to lead 8 -3, Billy fought back to level, Martin pulled away again to lead 17 – 11 and
19 -14 surly a repeat was not on the cards nor expected, but Yes Billy must have found Chris Ireland (from the” A” ) Deep Pockets and dug in to nick the game Martin lost 19 – 21 Though to be fair Billy is the Libs average leader by a distance.
Big Ted the friendly bear up against A Moore quickly established an 8 -2 lead, this was followed by exchanges between the pair and the score moved on 16 -11 to TED
A Moore put a break of 6 together to take the lead, Ted responded with 6 of his own to win 21 -17

Skipper Davis is proving to be an inspirational choice has skipper and is leading from the front both on the green in style, prowess, but in the averages where he sits at the top looking down on the peasants! Playing against Cliff eckersall. John raced to 7 -0 lead, followed by exchanges of points with neither player retaining the block, moved the score to 14 – 9 in Johns Favour. John Stepped a gear, tightened his already bulging waistline a notch and run out with a break of 7 to win 21 -9
Les Canny cainer back from his many travels up against M Connaughton was another to have a single figure victory and remind people he was once a regular with the “A” and must be keen to regain his place- was always in control and won 21 -5 which included a 9 break
Garthe Moore must be thinking he is like the phoenix and risen from the ashes, for he seems to be having his best season for a while and sitting in 3rd place in the averages and only lost 3 games. – Is it the copious fine ale he consumes with consummate ease or is it simply he’s got nothing better to do? Anyway playing against J Harte raced to an empathic lead of 14 – 4 in only 12 ends including a very impressive 10 break. Garth must have taken pity or eased or thinking that the beer was calling from the side, allowed his opponent back in. But Garth responded with another 6 break and won 21 – 12
Ian not so luckett up next. But first a note from the editor
FOR THE RECORD–
I DO NOT LOOK LIKE, SOUND LIKE, WALK LIKE OR I AM THE SON OR TWIN OR ANYTHING ELSE despite the fact a complete stranger tried to give me something that was meant for Ian , all I can say the room was dark and crowded!!!!
Back to Ian game – Ian has been struggling with form in the “A” and so dropped to regain confidence and it prove to work and was another to win with single figures.
Playing against D Cartwright and the scores level at 7 – 7 Ian showed his class stepped up several gears and took control with a 7 break to win 21 – 9
John The scorer Haslam was the anchor and up against Ron Day. And it proved not to be John’s Day!!! (beautiful how I did that) with nothing between the pair in the first half and the scores at 10 all after 15 ends, fatigue set in and Mr day put some ………… wait for it ……………………………………………………………………
Yes “DAY” light between them ( Tee Hee I never knew you could have so much fun with a name no disrespect to MR Day intended) john lost 13 -21
