Paul O’Donnell’s hat-trick capped a fine display by Robbie Monetti’s side as Prestwich Reserves continued their 100% start to the season with a thumping victory over Old Blackburnians B.

The tone for the match was set inside the first minute as Brian Leckie powered home a header to give the home side a perfect start.

Mike Kirkley forced the ball over the line from a 10th minute corner before O’Donnell converted Dan Frappola’s lay-off soon after to make it three.

Stephen Grimes set up leading scorer Anthony Roberts moments later with O’Donnell driving home his second and Prestwich’s fifth after only 35 minutes.

Dan Frappola made it six just after the break before the visitors grabbed a 70th minute consolation goal.

Roberts got his second and his sides seventh just two minutes later and then Frappola doubled his personal tally with a headed goal in the 82nd minute.

O’Donnell blasted high over the bar from two yards with an open goal at his mercy as he went looking for his hat-trick but the striker wasn’t to be denied as another low strike found the back of the net with six minutes remaining.
