WEEK 4 DARTS & DOMS AWAY TO WOOLPACK (RADCLIFFE)

Saturday November 21st 2009 | Social

Following last weeks home defeat, everyone had a point to prove and another eventful night took place with the quote of the night going to the opponents as follows:
“here, Mavis I’ve got a joke for you”
“I hope it’s not one of those funny ones!” came Mavis reply ah what fun we have in darts and doms, bet you wished you were signed on now!

Darts

Stu Cameron doing what he does well and leading from the front and played like a professional from the tele, his first leg saw a “100” & “135” in 21 darts. But the second was awesome, his first 9 darts went “95, 140, 140” then he checked out with an 101 in only 15 darts the best so far in the league from both the first and second division won 2-0

Chomper Davies again keen to keep up with stu also won 2-0 with 3 “100’s” taking his tally to 12 for the season and has now won 4 from 4 and not dropped a leg

Braders played well but needed to take the match to 3 legs before claiming victory 2-1 which included 2 “100’s” and 50 checkout.

Metric (nick Carter) was majestic, though showed his inexperience and tender age and went for the wrong double! he had 5 “100’s” in the match missed an 133 checkout in the first leg and in the second, needing 148 his first two darts hit treble 20, leaving double 14 for the match and probably what would have been the highest ckeckout of the season. But instead he went for double 9 !!!!!!!!!!! arh the innocence of youth he won 2 – 0 and now has 9 “100’s” for the season so far.

With the match secure, but the pressure still remained for no one wanted to go home a loser. Martyn Ackroyd stepped up and won 2-0 with ease claiming his first “100” of the season

marathon man Jon O’ connor up next, and there is simply not enough words not space to describe his game, indeed if I tried it would be like writing war & peace volume 1& 2, his game was uneventful with some ridiculous low scores and both legs went to double 1 which took approx 35 mins 1472 darts to get though he did win 2 – 0 which is more than I and he has had not dropped a leg in his two games so far.

Skipper Jon Army, who has now been christened “nemo” – apparently I do a goldfish impression with my mouth when i throw!! ( thanks Braders) last up and looking to get a another 7 -0 whitewash lost the first leg but started with “100” in the next leg then proceeded to hit 5 consecutive “60’s” narrowly hitting the wire every time and again struggling with his double before taking the leg and forcing a third. Again high scores and another “100” before needing nearly has many darts has marathon O connor to take the leg to win 2-1

Darts 7 – 0 (14 -2 legs)

Doms

Having witnessed my first 5 -0 earlier in the season I was to see another but sadly this time it was against us and looking at the following scores it would appear that we didn’t even whimper never mind fight, or was it bad luck or perhaps the doms were marked. perhaps I might have to mix the pairings up to freshen things up.

Gail & wendy went first and showed some spirit and had the highest losing score of 82 -91.

Big Ted & the Hammer up next and limped to 69 -91

Janet & Andy losing their record went down 52 – 91

New pairing of Irene & Stuart did not fair any better went down 44 -91

Last and no means least Big Ted & Gail keen to protect their 100% lost 68 -91

There is no game on mon 23 Nov so please join us for practice. There is also the club Knockout comps taking place over the next few wednesdays if anyone is interested.

Next game away to second placed Old tower (next to close park in radcliffe) on Mon 30 Nov –
