Apologies for not updating the site sooner! I have been washing my hair and looking for toys which I impetuously cast from the PRAM from week 3.
Home against bottom placed and un-victorious Church Inn from Bury, and an easy game was expected to maintain our 100% start but disaster struck and complacency crept in through the building works
and we were humbled in a see -saw match that could of gone either way, up or down left or right but sadly for us it went down down DOWN!!! Though they were some excellent throwing from 3 players and woefully unlucky for 4 and in the Doms we simply didn’t have the luck of the draw or the pick.
Darts first
Stu Cameron fresh from his holiday had the honour opening, but his talent was wasted and made short work of playing against a very inexperienced player to win 2-0 which included 2 “100’s” & 1 “140” and the second leg in only 19 darts.
Braders up next and will consider himself unlucky, he was comfortable in front and in control in the first leg when his opponent chipped in a very bizarre if not incredibly lucky treble 20, treble 12 and treble 14 to leave double 10, which he duly took with his first dart upon his next visit to the oche. Braders fought back to claim the next, to take the match to a deciding leg, again , his opponent chipped in with an high score from nowhere and put pressure on braders. But this was the final straw and braders lost his focus and with it the match to lose 1 -2
The man with no name gareth up next and looking to impress his wife nicola whom has just announced she is pregnant (CONGRATS FROM ALL THE TEAM) was a little nervous and perhaps tried too hard, and unlike in the bedroom he failed to score big in the darts and went down 1 – 2
Chomper Davies not to be out done by stu also won in straight legs but going one better with 3 “100’s” & 1 “140” in 20 darts for the first leg and 19 darts in the second to win 2-0
Metric up next (nick Carter) up next and is improving with every game had 2 “100’s” and a 20 dart finish to win the first leg and was never under pressure in the next to win 2 – 0 to lead the match at 3 -2
Martyn Ackroyd played the opponents skipper and though out scored her he could not finish, in fact the only double martyn had as one from the bar! lost 0-2
With the match now level at 3-3 and all to play for it was down to the skipper Jon army to bring the match home, and jon played his consistent game with respectable scoring which included a “100” in each leg, but like Martyn before could not hit a double for love or money and went down in shame to man in suit with breathing difficulties and lost 0-2
darts lost 3 – 4 (8 -8 in legs)
Doms
A similar story to the darts, with the luck of the draw against us went as follows:
Big Ted & Hammer lost their first game of the season and went down 76 -91
Wonderful Wendy & Gorgeous Gail looking to keep us in the match did not disappoint and had a very narrow win 91-84
Skipper Jon Army and Stu Cameron were an experimental pair and were very unlucky with the doms and lost 82 -91
Unbeaten Jolly Janet and Braders up next again to keep the match interesting had the lowest score of the evening and lost 71 -91
With the match now lost Big Ted & gorgeous Gail playing for pride and protect their undefeated record did not disappoint and obliged with close 91 -84 win
Result 2 -3
