GOING FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

Thursday September 2nd 2010 | Club

All four sections of the Club are going from strength to strength and I thought it might well be useful for you all to know what we are planning in the future as a club.

This year has seen us complete a £600k investment in facilities, supported in part by funders (Sport England £236k – ECB – £130k – LTA £40k and the remaining monies (ca £200k) coming from Club funds. Funds amassed over the years and in the main from external sponsors and THE BAR.

The new facilities now allow us to hire out the main room and bar.

These bookings are increasing and helping us amass the funds to strengthen and meet our business plan commitments.

A useful example of future commitments is the eventual replacement of the three sand based all weather Tennis courts which are currently ca 3/5 years over their expected live span and will cost ca £40/50k to replace.

Prudent work over the years replacing the specialised sand has given rise to a longer than expected life!

There are many other commitments that need to be provided for so please appreciate and understand what your Management committee is trying to achieve.

At times the bookings will not be convenient to all but you need to understand that we must maintain / decorate / replace all our assets in a planned and economic way over the next decades or we will lose the advantage of the great facilities we all currently enjoy.

Finally, if any of you still want to helpful in a financial way there are very simple and effective ways available and the main one being our 300 Club which currently stands at a membership figure of 236.
