PCTBC – BEST SPORTS CLUB IN BURY

On Friday 24th September we competed, for the third year running, for the title of ‘Club of the Year’ at the Bury Sports Award Presentation evening held in the Radcliffe Civic Suite.

We competed against 12 other nominated clubs and won the award being described as “a shining example for other clubs in Bury”.

The achievement was perhaps more remarkable as we were the only Multi-Sports Club among the nominees so the focus was on all four of our sports rather than just one.

Our undoubted strength was the fact we have Clubmark Accreditation in Cricket, Tennis and Crown Green Bowling and the equivalent Charter Standard in our Football section – the only club multi-Sport Club in the U.K. to have this distinction.

Another strong point was the breadth of our ‘outreach’ activities into both schools and the community.

We now go on to represent Bury at the GreaterSport Awards Presentation Evening in Manchester on the 12th November.
