BERYL SHAW

Tuesday February 1st 2011 | Club

Beryl died last week after a long illness which she fought very bravely for several months. Beryl was a longstanding member of our club and served both the Tennis and Bowling sections with great spirit, dedication and pride.

She coached Junior Tennis players for many years and is well known latterly for playing and organising Green Bowling for several Ladies teams. She continued to take a great interest in our club and was regularly seen walking her beloved Dog Dylan around the PCTBC grounds stopping and chatting with her many friends.

She made a personal donation to Project Spacse and was delighted with the progress the club has made and made that known to me on several occasions. I and many other members of PCTBC attended her funeral on Monday which was a beautiful service punctuated by many personal memories of her working and sporting life.

I have known Beryl for over 40 years as I worked with her for ICI at the start of my own career. People like Beryl Shaw typify the volunteering efforts of many members within our Club and she will be sadly missed.

God Bless Beryl,

Brian Lorenzini
