NEW SIGNINGS FOR PRESTWICH

Prestwich are delighted to announce two new signings for the forthcoming 2011 cricket season. Aussie wicket-keeper/batsman Matthew Wiley has joined us from Falmouth CC in Cornwall while the pro’s older brother Chris comes to The Heys following a seven season stay at Oulton Park CC in the Cheshire Premier League.

Wiley, 21, (pictured right) has played over 50 first-grade games for Joondalup since making his debut as a 16-year-old in 2005/06. He has represented Western Australia at Under-15s (2005), Under-17s (2006/07) and Under-19s (2007/08). He has been involved with the Emerging Western Australia pre-season training (2006-08), wicket-keeping (2005-08) and 2nd XI (2008-09) squads. He then spent the 2009 season playing for Falmouth in the Cornwall Premier League (341 runs at 20.06).

Jones, 40, has played at Oulton Park since 2003 taking 162 wickets at 21.51 for their first team, with 31 catches and 319 runs (highest score being 47 against Alderley Edge in 2009). Chris has actually played at Prestwich before as a youngster alongside his now new Chairman.
