Centurions Matt Wiley and Sam Holden led the victory charge in the battle of the local rivals last Saturday.
The Prestwich duo struck magnificent hundreds to set Stand a daunting target of 289 in 50 overs.
Trent Scott led the counter attack with an impressive 60 but the Hamilton Road side fell 112 runs short.
With both sides in good recent form, Prestwich delivered the first psychological blow by winning the toss and taking first strike on a glorious afternoon.
But Carl Sutcliffe produced a fine delivery to straighten and clip Danny Jones’s off stump for an early breakthrough.
Steve Orrell made a solid 34 until Stuart Catterall bowled him round his legs, with the score on 88.
But that merely paved the way for some explosive hitting, first from Wiley who scored his maiden century for the club, consisting of 11 fours and four sixes.
He departed for 104, having staged a 128-run partnership with Holden, who then carried on the clean hitting. He reached his 50 in relatively circumspect fashion before pressing the accelerator pedal, crashing 13 boundaries and eight sixes in total.
Credit to the visitors who didn’t give up, and Sutcliffe returned to the fray to dismiss James Wharmby and Steven Lorenzini – whose average had hitherto stood at 94 – as the hosts sought to carve out quick, late runs. Sutcliffe returned 3 for 76 and Scott Butterworth 3 for 70.
Yet Holden proved immoveable, finishing unbeaten on 124 made off 81 balls.
The visitors suffered the early loss of Jimmy Cutt, bowled by Danny Jones for 1, and Chris Holt fell to the spin of Chris Jones for 10.
However, Scott was intent on putting bat to ball and scored freely, hitting five fours and two sixes to notch up his half century.
In tandem with Dave Taylor, they took the score past the three-figure mark without further loss until Andy Bradley bowled Scott for 60, made from 85 balls.
The in-form Catterall became the first of Elliot Woodage’s two victims as his sweep was pouched by Danny Jones at deep square, and wickets began to fall more regularly.
Sutcliffe wasn’t going down without a fight as he struck two lusty sixes but his cameo of 22 was ended by ill-luck as the ball trickled onto his stumps from his bat.
Taylor was ninth-man out for a gritty 47 – Bradley taking a smart low return catch – the only surprise being that Taylor fell three runs short of the half century he normally clocks up against his neighbours.
It was left to Bradley to wrap up the points with the wicket of Jack Ritchie, giving him figures of 5 for 58, and 50 wickets for the season.
The five-point victory meant the Heys side remained one point behind leaders Woodhouses who also gained maximum points over Denton St Lawrence.
