Prestwich Reserves continued their 100% record with this comprehensive 7-0 victory over Horwich RMI Reserves at Heys Road.

With the First Team having no game this weekend, Liam Morrissey’s team took centre stage and didn’t disappoint with a seven goal blast that moved the team to within just four games of promotion at the first time of asking.

But Prestwich will have their sights set on the title and the remarkable achievement of not dropping a single point throughout the season.

Andrew Morrissey’s early free-kick set Prestwich on their way and strikes from Jamie Campbell, Kieran Doherty, Danny Jones, Darran Williams and a late brace from Rhys Hardie sealed the three points.

With 51 points from 17 games and a goal difference of +53, the team will now be firmly focussed on next Saturday’s local derby as they take the short trip to Ringley Road to lock horns with Old Standians Reserves.

PRESTWICH: Watson, Higgins (A Jones), Woodcock, Fitzgerald, Campbell (1), Williams (1) (Hardie (2)), Lewis, A Morrissey (1), Hoggard, Doherty (1) (Grant), D Jones (1)

• Prestwich A Team moved up one place to fourth in Division Five with a hard fought 3-2 success over Ainsworth Reserves at Drinkwater Park. Goals from the returning Curtis Ward, John Fiorentini and Lee Dean secured the win for Andrew Howarth’s men.
