PRESTWICH RETAIN LCL CROWN

Sunday September 2nd 2012 | Cricket

Prestwich Cricket Club have retained their Lancashire County League title following today’s 2 wicket win at Stretford.

Denton’s win over local rivals Denton St Lawrence coupled with our success at Stretford meant Steven Lorenzini’s men opened up an insurmountable 14 point lead at the top of Division One with just two games left to play.

Bowler Andy Bradley also overtook Bob Hinchliffe as leading post-war first team wicket taker for the club this weekend. Bob’s record total of 891 wickets finally fell as Bradley finished the day with 895.

Well done to everybody concerned today and more reaction will follow over the next few days.
