Prestwich backed up their win over Little Lever two weeks ago with a good win away at Lancashire Amateur League Champions Castle Hill in Saturday’s Premier Division clash.

Castle Hill, struggling this season after their success last time out, fell behind in the 40th minute to an Ashley Ward strike before equalising ten minutes after the restart.

Midfielder Darren Buckley restored Prestwich’s lead just after the hour mark before Adam Edwards sealed the three points with a goal moments later.

New signing striker Ashford Blake got ten minutes at the end as the team remained sixth place in the Premier Division table.

The Reserves suffered injury-time heartache as visitors Hesketh Casuals Reserves scored a late late penalty to nick a point at Heys Road in Division Three. Andy Smith and Paul Sambrook scored the goals for Prestwich in a two-all draw.

The A Team continue to struggle in Division Four following a 3-0 loss away at Dobbies while the Sunday Team couldn’t build on last week’s big win over Unsworth as they fell 4-0 against Radcliffe Town at Outwood Road.

On Saturday the first team entertain second-bottom club Hindley Juniors at Heys Road while the Reserves travel to Bolton to take on Castle Hill Reserves. The A Team welcome Horwich Victoria Reserves to Littleton Road. All Saturday kick-off’s are now 2pm.

The Sunday team take on AFC Elton the following day in the Premier Division. Kick off at Newbold Street, Bury is 10:30am.
