Reports

Prestwich FC Under 10 Panthers 7-3 Adlington
The Panthers played much better today against a team we have failed to beat four times over the last two seasons.

We got got off to a bad start falling behind in the first minute but we showed great spirit and after a great strike from the edge of the area from Reece we were soon back on level terms.

We then took the lead with great one touch football from James and Reece which led to a great cross for Sami to finish off.

A mad five minutes came which saw us go 3-2 down then 4-3 up for half time.

We were a lot stronger second half and didn’t concede and we became solid at the back as Alex and Matthew did little wrong while Conrad pulled off two super saves.

Owen, Sebastian and Tega all broke play up well then quickly releasing team mates for us to hit on the break!

Well done boys today all played well!!

Goals – Tega 2, Sami 2, Recce, James and Ben. Man of the match was Sebastian.

Bolton County Hawks v Prestwich FC Under 9 Rhinos
The Rhinos took control of this game from the kick off with some fantastic passing as we kept hitting Bolton on the break.

We totally dominated the first half and were winning by a few goals by half time with strikes from Ryan, Leighton and Josh.

At half time we made some changes and continued to dominate with some good runs from Jamie and Zain crossing the ball into their box which ended with Jamie and Zain scoring goals and Ryan and Leighton also finishing well inside the area.

There was a solid performance in defence by Armarni, Guershom, Mathew and Mark and the Hawks hardly threatened the Rhinos goal.

Well Done today lads, it was a fantastic performance by all.

Daisy Hill v Prestwich FC Under 9 Pythons
A win’s a win but not in the manner the Pythons are used to.

A poor first half when nothing went to plan saw us go in level at the break after Harvey scored a good goal from a tight angle before we conceded a sloppy goal due to indecision.

The second half was much better with some good link up play which saw Sam score after good work from Harvey.

Then Finlay’s thunderbolt came back off the crossbar for Jayden to tap in from close range.

Harvey wrapped things up with his second goal which he deserved.

A strong performance from Lewis saw him just edged out for Man-of-the-Match by Harvey. Well done lads.

Prestwich FC U7 Pumas v Pennine Reds
A pattern has developed to the Pumas matches this season, lose one, win one, lose one, win one etc. So unfortunately for Pennine, this one was over before it even began!

However, the start of this match was a very even affair with missed chances at both ends of the pitch.

Pumas ‘keeper Charlie did well to divert a low shot around the post to keep the visitors out while Sam H was unlucky with a chance after great play down the flank by Adam.

Umair finally broke the deadlock midway through the first half with a neat volleyed finish from the angle to give Prestwich the lead at the break.

Ash then doubled the advantage for the Pumas soon after the restart before Pennine pulled one back shortly after.

Following a foul on AJ just outside the box, Leo sent a superb free-kick in to the top corner of the goal to restore his side’s two goal cushion.

But credit to Pennine, they fought back well and scored a couple of quick goals to bring the game back in the balance with 10 minutes remaining.

Sam C was causing Pennine problems with strong runs down both wings before Ash found Leo in the middle who scored to regain the lead for the home side.

And with Leo and Ash having a bit of a personal goal scoring competition this season, the latter found the back of the net another couple of times late on to seal the win for the Pumas and make it eight-all in their golden boot race.

Chadderton Park Eagles v Prestwich FC U7 Tigers
Another plucky effort from the Tigers but the fourth game ended in a loss against Chaddy Park Eagles.

The first 10 minutes were close with the Eagles scoring a few.  As the game wore on the Tigers grew tired and were opened up at the back from an organised Eagles team who raced away with the middle part of the game.

The last 10 minutes saw a much closer game and a very solid defensive showing from the Tigers.

There was another good display from Joe in goal who also played well outfield when Luke and Elliot were between the sticks.

Elliot and Bodhi put in another great effort all over the pitch and Bodhi would have scored a great goal but for a fine save from the Eagles keeper.

Tom and Kieron put in some strong tackling at the back and there were better performances from Sam, Jack and Alex this week.

Man of the match goes to Rowan who put in a great display with strong tackling and clever marking. Well done Rowan, keep it up.

Thanks to Chaddy Park Eagles who were great throughout. Roll on next week!
