ONE MORE WIN…

Monday April 28th 2014 | Football

A late strike from Ashford Blake gave Prestwich a vital 2-1 win this evening at Old Blackburnians in their quest to retain their title as Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division Champions.

With current leaders, and last season’s runners-up, Old Boltonians having finished their campaign a couple of weeks ago, Prestwich have been playing catch-up from all their games in hand.

Recent wins over Rossendale Ams, Howe Bridge Mills, Bury GSOB and Failsworth Dynamos have seen Craig Howarth’s team close the gap on the now-finished leaders to just one point with one game in hand.

However, Boltonians superior goal difference means that a draw will not be enough for Prestwich to retain the Championship.

The crunch game is this Wednesday at Heys Road against Tottington United. Kicking off at 6:30pm, we urge everybody to get down to the club and support the lads and help them across the finishing line.
