Solihull a Success Again

Prestwich Bowling Club enjoyed another successful weekend at Solihull Bowling Club for our annual bowls trip on the weekend of 8th August.

Everyone is welcome to this annual weekend away, friends and family, bowlers and non-bowlers enter the competition as well and we all have some fun. We all stayed at the Ramada Jarvis in Solihull, built around one of the oldest greens in the country.

The weather on Saturday (the day of the comp) was really good, as the weather forecast for that weekend was terrible but we had a great day. The following morning was dreadful and the green was like a lake so we really did get away with it!

The competition was a round robin in different leagues and there was a semi and final. The presentation of the Ronnie Humphreys Members and Guests trophy took place on Saturday night in the hotel restaurant and the winners were Janet Austin and Dean Richardson, runners up were Caroline Day and Stuart Cameron, followed by a raffle and lots of talking and drinking!
