DES GRIFFIN – UPDATED

Not all members will be aware of the sad passing of Des Griffin.

Des was a tennis member at our club for many years. He was an extremely competent player and had considerable successes at the club; as recently as last year he reached the final of the men’s singles competition.

Des enjoyed his tennis and we enjoyed Des as a member. Popular at the club he supported both social and team tennis as well as the social events. Des was a captain’s dream in that he was reliable, non-complaining and willing to step in at the last minute if there was a problem.

Above all Des was always friendly and helpful. If asked he would willingly pass on tennis tips and share his tennis knowledge but would do so with quiet humour.

He was great company on and off court and will be greatly missed.

RIP Des.
