WHAT A COMEBACK!

Head tennis coach at the club, Paul Jepson, made his competitive comeback last week.

Returning from a serious shoulder injury which has kept him out for 2 years, Paul competed in the Lancashire County Championship Over 35s and what a comeback it turned out to be!

Having beat 3 serious contenders, including the number 3 seed, with really stylish play, he then faced the the big hitting number 1 seed and reigning champion, Shafique Mohammad from Clarkesfield.

The first set was really close with Paul having 3 break points in the first game but loosing out narrowly 6-4. The second set followed a similar pattern with both players pushing their opponent hard but again Shafique edged it 6-3 to retain his title.

Paul played brilliantly and has got what it takes to get his own back next year.
