NO HIC-CUPS

Prestwich 1st and 2nd teams progressed to the next round of the cup last Sunday in contrasting circumstances.
The 2nd XI were facing a run chase of 176 in 29 overs and were 42 for 2 when rain caused the match to be abandoned and forcing a bowl-out.
With Lewis Jarvis hitting the stumps for Prestwich, Walshaw levelled to make it 1-1 before going to sudden death. Step forward 17-year-old Jack Doyle…….to hit the target and earn his team a place in the quarter final.
Over at Whalley Range, the 1st team were experiencing a more straightforward victory as they bowled out the home side for 46. Danny Pawson was in the thick of the action, taking a superb slip catch, returning 1 for 2 from his 8 overs (including 6 maidens), and then donning the gloves to claim 2 stumpings.
Spinners Andy Bradley took 3-3 and Nathan Bailey 2-10.
Prestwich eased past the total for the loss of just one wicket.
Saturday proved an eventual washout for both teams. The 1sts were on 46 for 2 (Ryan Stanbury 31) against Flixton and 2nds on 75-1 at Littleborough Lakeside (Haris Aziz 50no) when the heavens opened and no more play was possible.
