A victorious photo from our most recent past.
The year was 2015 – fittingly marking the club’s 175th anniversary.
The 1st XI chalked up a famous double – winning the Lancashire County League and Walkden Cup to signify the end of an era.
For it was the last season of the Lancashire County League and also the last time the Walkden Cup would be contested, to make way for the new Greater Manchester Cricket League (GMCL).
Pictured is the first team celebrating their Walkden Cup triumph at Denton St Lawrence.
They had set a daunting total of 356 for 5 before bowling the hosts out for 224, to win by a comfortable margin of 132 runs.
A few weeks later, under the captaincy of Andy Bradley, the side clinched the league title, losing only one game in the process.
