Doubly im-Pres-sive

Luke Prescott steered the 3rd team to victory on Sunday with an unbeaten half century at South West Manchester.
His younger brother Thomas, aged 12, also grabbed a piece of the limelight with an innings of 30 and 3 for 11 as the 4th team claimed their inaugural senior victory.
The 1st and 2nd XI games were washed out on the Saturday, leaving the focus on Sunday’s games
Wickets were shared around as the 3rd XI bowled out South West Manchester for 107. Umar Arif, Karl West and Sam Harding each grabbed a brace.
Luke Prescott, aged 15, opened the innings and could not be budged, hitting five boundaries in his 54 not out, given good support by Matthew Korab (22) and George Neill-Platt (19) as they chased down the target with 13 overs to spare.
The 4th team welcomed Springhead 4ths for a friendly game at The Heys – and did so by fielding 4 father-and-son combinations: skipper Pete Staley with son Sam, Gary Prescott with son Thomas, Tim Compton with son Ellis, and Simon Jackson with son Charlie (all pictured above right).
Springhead were dismissed for 92 as Liam Potts continues to impress with his bowling, taking 2 for 4, and Simon Jackson, continuing to surprise, taking 3 for 11.
Thomas Prescott added to his bowling haul with an excellent opening knock of 30, which was mirrored by fellow 12-year-old Charlie Jackson, who made an equally assured 14 not out on his debut.
Jackson junior remained at the crease as the experienced Anees Arif (18 not out) struck the winning runs.
