Prestwich 1sts stayed top of the division after rain wiped out all the premier league games last Saturday.

Intermittent play was managed at Denton St Lawrence where Prestwich made 124 for 7 from 24 overs. Marty Walters top scored with a fine 66, his 24th 50-plus for the club.

The hosts, just one point behind in second place, were 41 for 1 off 5.4 overs when rain finally ended the game.

The only wicket to fall, that of Mark Dilnutt, came via a catch from Tom Gibson (pictured), who has now passed 200 catches for the first team.

It now leaves Prestwich with six games to play, and 6 points covering the top four sides. They face Woodbank at home on Saturday (12.30pm start) before a trip to Egerton on Sunday.

The 2nd, 3rd and 5th team matches were all abandoned, but the 4ths managed to get a 32-over game at Monton 4ths. The home side made 127 for 5, Khalid Noori returning the best figures of 2 for 20. In reply, Prestwich finished on the 88 for 7, with skipper Pete Staley unbeaten on 37.
