Heat through to quarters

Prestwich Heat progressed through to the Quarter Finals of this year’s GMCL20 Premier Cup following a 32 run win at Bury Bullsharks on Friday evening.

Lewis Smith’s unbeaten 39, with scores also for Sam Kershaw (34), Stuart Els (29) and Alex Bradley (17), helped Heat finish their 20 overs on 143-4.

While Bury’s top order briefly matched the required rate, some exceptional catches from Nathan Bailey, Nico Van Zyl, Els and a gravity defying bullet time effort from Charlie Jackson (above) sealed the win.

On Thursday evening Skipper Dylan Kane top scored for Prestwich Patriots to help his side to a very narrow 4 run win over Walshaw Wobblers at Heys Road.

This was after an increased target was set for the visitors due to a slow over rate penalty which ultimately took the game tantalisingly out of their reach.
